Qing, a senior statistician at Insureware, has a solid academic background in mathematics and statistics. After completing her BSc in Applied Mathematics, she successfully completed a BSc Honours with First Class Honours in Statistics. Her research project for her Honours degree was "Log-Linear Model Selection by Information Theoretic Criteria".
Qing's expertise lies in information theory, model selection - especially for generalized linear models, and Markov-Chain Monte Carlo methods. Her current research interests are statistical inference after model selection and copulas.
In 2005, Qing set up a reading group in Chinese Professionals Club of Australia (CPCA), and is the group leader since then. Apart from reading, she is also interested in music, history, writing and spiritual exploration.
