Insureware has a unique culture that enables it to produce innovative actuarial software by utilising:

  • Very deep statistical skills, of both theory and applications.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of modelling actuarial data built up over many years, based on high-level R&D and feedback from a global client base.

  • The ability to transform R&D into practical tools that can be used by non-statisticians.



    • Insureware has a dedicated R&D team of 15 people, including seven statisticians and six programmers. Six Insureware staff hold PhDs. They have made contributions to new statistical methodologies and have published widely in eminent global statistical and actuarial journals. Some of these publications have had a major impact on statistical science and have been cited by other statisticians very favorably.

    The statistical journals include the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Annals of Statistics, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Time Series, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Multivariate Analysis and Communications in Statistics. The international actuarial journals include the Journal of Risk and Insurance and the British Actuarial Journal.

    Insureware has also made significant contributions to the statistical education of actuaries. Some of its unique methodological contributions are now on the CAS Syllabus of Examinations (starting January 2005).

    It has taken Insureware’s high calibre and dedicated R&D team two years to develop original technical concepts into the new practical tools in ICRFS-PLUS™ 10. The fast computational statistical algorithms underlying ICRFSPLUS™ are proprietary. It would require significant effort even by the best international statisticians to reproduce them.
