The Standard & Poor’s Syn Thesys Non-Life database

The Standard & Poor’s Syn Thesys Non-Life is a database containing FSA Annual Return regulatory data for UK non-life companies. The current version contains comprehensive data on some 400 companies. This is available for purchase from Standard and Poor’s in the form of a CD Rom including custom Windows software for data display.

 

ICRFS-Plus™ users who have purchased or are contemplating purchasing the Syn Thesys Non-Life database will naturally want to be able to be able to apply the many powerful tools for data organisation, viewing, modelling and forecasting that are part of the ICRFS-Plus™ suite.

 

To this end we have created a set of instructions and importing scripts which will enable automatic transfer of the SynThesys database into an ICRFS-Plus™ database.

 

The importing script also sets up a number of very useful database values such as Parent Company, LOB description and Net/Gross which makes it easy to begin navigating through this large mass of data.
