ICRFS-Plus™ 10.5 Run Wizard Macro

The following COM script runs a PTF modelling wizard on a user selected database. Triangle groups can be filtered by classification variables facilitating running the wizard on subset of a large database - A.M. Best ICRFS-Plus™ database or NAIC ICRFS-Plus™ database, for example. For a discussion of how to convert the A.M.Best or NAIC or S&P Syn Theses Schedule P CD to an ICRFS-Plus™ database click here.

Instructions for running the modelling wizard on multiple TGs within an MS Access ICRFS-Plus database:

  • 0. On first opening this spreadsheet make sure that macros are enabled.
  • 1. "Select Database" button will bring up a file browser; choose the desired ICRFS-Plus™ Access database. The variables and values windows on the left should automatically update, if not press "Update Variable List" button.
  • 2. Select the Triangle Type from the drop-down menu. The wizard will be run on these incremental triangles.
  • 3. A wizard must be selected. "Select Wizard" button opens a file browser. Wizard files have .icrwiz suffixes and are usually stored in the ICRFS-Plus™ program directory. Wizard file locations can always be found through the "Wizard Preferences" dialogue. (Button with the pink "P" to the left of the one-step wizard button in ICRFS-Plus™ on the PTF toolbar.)
  • 4. Database variables and values can be chosen with the windows on the left.

"Add selected variable and value to query" button moves the selected variable/value to the active query list on the right beneath the buttons. Multiple variable/value pairs can be added; the macro runs the chosen wizard on all datasets of the selected type in Triangle Groups that fall under all of these database values; conditions are logically combined as AND.

Variable/values can be removed from the active list by simply clearing [deleting] the corresponding cells.
  • 5. Progress of the macro can be observed in the lower left under "Current TG" and "Current DS". A small dialogue box pops up when the macro has completed.

The database can be open in ICRFS-Plus while the macro is in progress.

The wizard can be run on all incremental triangle types or as the user selects.

The above instructions are as in the Excel document: RunWizard.xls or RunWizard_2007+.xlsm for the MS Office 2007+ version. Note some browsers may save the office 2007+ version as a zip file rather than the correct Excel .xlsm format. In that event, please save the file and rename to .xlsm before opening.
